Welcome to School of Food Science and Engineering! Our school was established 1995 with food engineering and biology as majors and “School of Biology and Food Science” as its initial name, and is one of teaching and research entities in HFUT. In 2016, after reorganization the department was renamed as the School of Food Science and Engineering.
Currently, there are four faculties (Food Engineering/Food Quality and Safety/Bioengineering/Biotechnology) and five fundamental research institutes/laboratories (Key Laboratory for Agricultural Products Processing of Anhui Province/Laboratory of Biology and Food Engineering/Fundamental Biological Laboratory/Agricultural Products and Biochemical institute of Ministry of Education) in our school. More than 90 staffs including 29 professors carry out research in the forefront of food sciences and biology: food science, food deep processing, food inspection, cell biology, biochemistry, botany, plant developmental and molecular biology, genetics.
The school has active cooperation and exchange programs with international institutions. We warmly welcome students and researchers who are interested in food science and biology to our school to study and work.
